Status Quo ist eine britische Band, die in den Jahren 1962/1965 gegründet wurde und zu den erfolgreichsten und langlebigsten Rockgruppen zählt.
Der erste Hitparadenerfolg gelang 1968 mit "Pictures of Matchstick Men."
Insgesamt hat die Band bislang 31 Studioalben, mehrere Livealben und fast 100 Singles veröffentlicht.
Zu den bekanntesten Stücken zählen Caroline, Down Down und Whatever You Want. Auch mit Coverversionen anderer Künstler sind Status Quo erfolgreich. Ihre Versionen von Rockin’ All Over the World und In the Army Now sind vermutlich bekannter als die Originalfassungen.
